Turn in Homework!

Posted by julie20201 on September 29, 2007

I cannot stress that enough. I am currently calculating your proficiency grades, and they’re not all that pretty specifically because of 0’s in the Homework category.

Since homework points are the same in quality as test points, about 10-14 homeworks equals a test grade. So every 5 pt homework is like dropping half a grade level on a test.

Some homeworks are graded harder than others; you will never know which is which, so always do your homework.

Extra Credit opportunities 7 through 9

Posted by julie20201 on September 29, 2007

Posted for week of 10/1/2007; total available ec pts to date =

7. Box of Teddy Grahams or a bag of goldfish (1 pt each to max of 2) Please email.

due 10/5/2007

8. Bring a box of tissues (2 pts). We’re getting into the cold season and my supply of tissues is already suffering from leaky noses. (Yes, we could get the cheap version of tissues from the school, but I’d rather us at least have fluffy tissues for our poor noses.)

due 10/5/2007

9. Draw a poster (larger than 8 ½ X 11) depicting of one of the 4 cycles. (Water cycle = 3 pts, Carbon, Nitrogen, Phosphorus cycles = 5 pts) It must be neat, colorful, fully explain the cycle, and be something I can easily store. (Ie. Use a half sheet of posterboard). It cannot be on normal printer/copier paper, but it can be on cardstock paper. The point is to make it sturdy enough to keep around.

Due 10/12/07

NOTE: I’m placing a cap of 10 pts of E.C. total
